The Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services has disclosed that it will resume printing passports in Lilongwe this week before commencing in other parts of the country.
According to a statement released on Tuesday, the department has completed the restoration ofthe e-Passport Issuance System.
Last month, the department suspended the processing and issuance of passports due to a cybersecurity breach.
Meanwhile, the department has reduced the e-passport fee for Malawian citizens by 55%. The cost for ordinary passports has been adjusted from K90,000 to K50,000, with a processing time of 10 days.
