Dedza MET worried over vandalism

Meteorological Office in Dedza has called on community members to take part in protecting weather stations.

This comes after Dedza Meteorological sub-stations were vandalised, according to the district’s MET Official, Harold Nkhoma.

Nkhoma said such behaviour is counter-productive as the equipment for weather stations is expensive.

Senior Chief Kachere, equally expressed concern over the development.

“Weather stations apparatus or equipment is very important so community need to be sensitised and community policing forums should be involved to protect public infrastructures including road signs,” he said.
