Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) has announced that this year’s tournament will take place either in June or July.
COSAFA announced on their Facebook page, stating that the dates will be chosen to maximise exposure and ensure a world-class competition that can promote regional football.
Last time around, the COSAFA Cup was held from July 5-16, 2023.
Malawi’s Flames will participate at this year’s tournament and will be sending the Under-23 squad, led by FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ Coach, Calisto Pasuwa since the senior team will be engaged in 2026 World Cup Qualifiers against Sao Tome and Principe and Equatorial Guinea.
Last year, Malawi finished fourth after losing to South Africa 5-3 on penalties after the game had ended 0-0 in regulation time, while Zambia won the tournament by defeating Lesotho 1-0.
