Construction work on the stalled Dedza Ring Road has recommenced, with PALMS Construction Company undertaking the project.
Minister of Transport and Public Works, Jacob Hara, said the project had halted due to the misalignment of the Malawian Kwacha against the US Dollar.
“We have now resolved the issues with all contractors who were assigned projects, not only in Dedza, as it involved several sectors such as the Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Office of Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets (PPDA), who were scrutinising technicalities,” Hara said.
Chairperson of the Dedza Kabaza Association, Vincent Kapiye, described the ring road project as vital for the residents of the district, highlighting its economic benefits for the people.
