Ball in Bullets’ court

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets could go top of the TNM Super League this afternoon if they beat Civil Service United at Kamuzu Stadium.

Bullets are two points behind leaders Mighty Wanderers, who sit on 52 points.

This follows Wanderers’ failure to extend their lead on Saturday, after they surrendered a 2–0 advantage to draw 2–2 with Silver Strikers at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.

However, a win today would come with the caveat that Bullets will have played 23 matches—one more than their rivals, who will catch up on games when they face Moyale Barracks in a midweek fixture at the same venue.

Assistant Coach for the People’s Team, Gilbert Chirwa, said his side is ready for the game despite predicting that it will be a tough one.

This is also the team’s first game since 06 November 2025, following the International Break after playing a 0-0 draw against Blue Eagles at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe.

“We used the break well. The boys have responded positively in training,” Chirwa said.

On the other hand, Civil Service United will be looking to pile pressure on third-placed Silver Strikers with a win today.

CIVO, who sit fourth, have 37 points from 22 games, while Silver have 40 points from 21 matches.

But the Civil Servants are coming off a 1-0 defeat at home against Chitipa United on November 5, 2025.

Civil Service United assistant coach, Charles Ben, reflected on their first-round meeting against Bullets—where they won 2–1 at CIVO Stadium in Lilongwe—saying they will adopt a different game plan today to secure all three points.

“We know that we are up against a good team, but so are we. We shall see what happens after 90 minutes,” Ben said.

Elsewhere in the league, at Nakhaka Stadium, Blue Eagles will welcome Moyale Barracks.

Eagles are 7th with 35 points from 24 games, while Moyale sit 11th with 24 points from 21 games.

At Karonga Stadium, league anchors Songwe Border United, who have 6 points, will lock horns against Dedza Dynamos, who are 13th with 24 points from 24 games, a point above the relegation zone, where Mzuzu City Hammers and Mighty Tigers also stand, with 24 points each from 24 games, but separated on goal difference.

However, Hammers might have a chance to escape this zone if they can beat their opponents this afternoon, MAFCO FC who are 12th with 24 points too.
