Mangochi Anglican Gospel Trumpeters, a choir from St Andrew’s Anglican Church, Mangochi Parish, has donated food and non-food items to patients at Mangochi District Hospital.
The gesture reflects the church’s commitment to the transformative power of giving and the positive impact it can have on those, particularly individuals suffering from various illnesses.
According to Reverend Canon Francis Chipala, the Parish Priest for Mangochi, the church mobilised resources through a choir festival organised by its youth group, the Mangochi Anglican Trumpeters.
“While most people celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ in various forms, many others in hospitals needed care and support from others; hence this gesture,” said Canon Chipala.
During the visit, the church donated food items, including soya pieces and sugar, to guardians caring for children admitted to the paediatric ward.
