The Ministry of Health has recommended that adolescents under the age of 18 should have access to sexual and reproductive health services to prevent unwanted diseases and pregnancies.
Deputy Director of Reproductive Health Services in the Ministry, Hans Katengeza, said this during a National Engagement meeting on Reproductive Health Services for Adolescents held in Lilongwe on Tuesday.
The Meeting which brough together members of the CSOs, Parliamentarians, Members of the Judiciary among others noted that most adolescents are becoming sexually active even before they attain the legal age of accessing some services like Contraceptives among others.
