Paramount Chief Kyungu for Chitipa and Karonga says hosting cultural festivals at Traditional Authority level can help to foster peace and unity which are vital for community development.
Paramount Chief Kyungu made the remarks during Banyakaboko Cultural celebrations at Iponga Primary School ground in Traditional Authority Mwakaboko in Karonga.
“I would like to commend Senior Chief Mwakaboko for organising the cultural festival in the area. I am urging other traditional leaders to encourage village leaders to organise similar events in the future to help us prepare for next year’s Chitipa and Karonga Cultural Festival,” he said.
Senior Chief Mwakaboko expressed satisfaction with the turnout, highlighting the community’s enthusiasm for preserving and celebrating their cultural heritage.
