President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has urged the clergy in the country to encourage their followers to think in abundance by supporting and aligning to the vision of his government.
The president said this at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe during an Interdenominational Worship Service.
Dr Chakwera has been emphasizing that his government aims at creating wealth, which he said is critical for the country’s transformation as outlined in the 2063 development agenda.
The President said it is imperative for Malawians to think outside the box by using strategies that are outlined in the recently launched Malawi Congress Party (MCP) manifesto for the country’s sustainable development.
He said this will benefit more generations to come.
President Chakwera added that Malawi is a blessed nation with abundant mineral resources which will help in financing the strategy of allocating K500,000 to every newly-born child in the country as stipulated in the MCP manifesto.
Chairperson of the Way of Cross Committee, Reverend Rangford Chokhotho, commended the President for his commitment to the spiritual well-being of Malawi.
He said the prayers are a sign of commitment from the clergy to continue supporting his administration.
The service was held under the theme ‘Arise Malawi’.
