Revamped railway hope for Lakeshore districts

Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Director of Youth, Richard Chimwendo Banda, has emphasized that President Lazarus Chakwera is committed to ensuring that development projects reach all citizens across the country, without bias towards specific regions.

Chimwendo Banda made the remarks at Sharpvalle Ground In Ntcheu District where multitudes attended a development rally.

“The re-establishment of the railway line in Malawi will benefit all Malawians including people around here at Sharpevalle trading centre and other districts. Dr Chakwera always fulfils whatever he has promised hence implementing various projects,” Banda stressed.

He has since urged the people of Ntcheu Bwanje North Constituency to rally behind MCP for continued development.

He went on to disclose plans by the government to rehabilitate the Nsanje to Lilongwe Railway line, which he said can boost the country’s economy.

MCP’s Regional Chairperson for the Lakeshore region, Augustine Chidzanja, echoed that Dr Chakwera will revive railway transport, restoring Sharpevalle’s former glory.

Senior Chief Ganya urged the government to continue food support, citing hunger risks.

Earlier, Chimwendo Banda met with local chiefs, encouraging them to champion development.
