The stage is set for this year’s Miss Malawi beauty pageant, with organisers confirming that the grand finale will be held on December 13 at the recently launched Pearl Convention Centre in Lilongwe.
This development follows the official signing of a partnership agreement between the Miss Malawi organising team and the events facility on Wednesday, paving the way for all key activities leading up to the main event to be hosted at the venue.
Miss Malawi Chief Operations Officer Godfrey Kambewa expressed confidence in the partnership, describing the Pearl Convention Centre as a fitting venue due to its world-class facilities, expansive space, and high-end amenities such as VIP lounges and secure parking.
“We’re thrilled about this collaboration. The venue aligns perfectly with our ambitions for this year’s pageant, providing both elegance and practicality as we prepare for the final event,” Kambewa said.
Over 70 contestants have already registered interest, with 12 finalists expected to compete in the final showdown. The crowned winner will walk away with a prize package valued at K30 million, which includes a fully furnished apartment in Lilongwe’s Area 43 an unprecedented offer in the pageant’s history.
Pearl Convention Centre Events Manager Chifundo Dumba said the collaboration with Miss Malawi marks a significant milestone for the facility, which has been operational for just seven months.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to supporting local initiatives that inspire growth and showcase Malawi’s talent. Hosting a national event of this calibre allows us to contribute to the cultural and tourism sectors in a meaningful way,” said Dumba.
The Pearl Convention Centre, designed to accommodate a wide range of events—from weddings to corporate conferences—is now positioning itself as a premium venue for high-profile national occasions.
