PawaPay secures mobile money licence from Reserve Bank of Malawi

Atlas Digital Services Limited, trading as pawaPay, has secured a Payment Service Provider (PSP) licence from the Reserve Bank of Malawi, with a view of enhancing financial infrastructure across Africa, focusing on mobile money services.

The licence has been obtained on August 13, 2024.

“This full licence demonstrates our commitment to adhering to stringent regulatory standards as it also ensures we’re fully compliant with regulatory requirements which help to mitigate financial and reputational risks,” said Arthur Muyepa, pawaPay Malawi Country Manager.

From July 2023 to July 2024, pawaPay processed transactions with a value of K199.1 billion.
