Civil Society Organisation Nutrition Alliance (CSONA), in partnership with Circle for Integrity Community Development (CICOD) and Concern Worldwide, has launched nutrition awareness roadshows in Mchinji and Lilongwe districts.
The campaign, which falls under the Irish Aid–funded Food Systems for Food Security Project, aims to drive home key messages on dietary diversity, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), gender equality, disability inclusion, mindset change, as well as youth and male participation.
Organisers say the initiative is designed to strengthen health outcomes, promote inclusivity and encourage sustainable practices within households and communities.
CSONA Acting Country Coordinator Joseph Gausi described the roadshows as an opportunity to unite communities around simple but life-changing practices.
“Good nutrition goes beyond what we put on the plate. It touches on hygiene, gender equality, and the involvement of every family member. These roadshows are about equipping households with knowledge that builds healthier, more resilient communities,” Gausi said.
The initiative underscores the commitment of CSONA, CICOD and Concern Worldwide to complement government efforts in the fight against malnutrition and to foster inclusive community development.
Stakeholders, community leaders and families have been encouraged to take the lead in spreading the messages, with the aim of ensuring lasting improvements in nutrition, health and overall well-being.
