Police in Mangochi have arrested 34-year-old Robert Josaya for allegedly killing his wife Edna Molesi, 27, over marital affairs.
Spokesperson for Mangochi Police Station, Amina Tepani Daudi, said the incident occurred on Sunday at M’bondo Village, Traditional Authority Chowe in the district.
According to Daudi, the deceased suspected Josaya of having extramarital affairs, which led to a fight.
“In the morning, neighbours heard uncontrollable cries from their five-month-old baby and after they forced open the door, Molesi was found dead on the floor with multiple head injuries and blood oozing from her nose and mouth,” said Daudi.
A Postmortem at the district’s Central Hospital revealed that the victim had succumbed to head injuries.
Josiya is expected to appear before court to answer murder charges.
