Police in Jenda, Mzimba, have arrested 29-year-old Chawezi Jere on suspicion of breaking into the home of Ephraim Mtatembo and stealing two laptops along with a home theatre system.
According to Macfarlen Mseteka, Public Relations Officer for Jenda Police, the suspect was arrested on Saturday and later confessed to the crime.
“He also broke into the home of Josephine Nyirenda, where he stole a Samsung Plasma screen. The total value of the recovered items is K940,000,” Mseteka said.
Jere has been charged with burglary and theft and is expected to appear in court soon.
