Police in Mangochi have arrested a 32-year-old man, Moffat Phiri, for allegedly impregnating his 12-year-old biological daughter.
Monkey-Bay Police Publicist, Alice Sichali, said Phiri has been having carnal knowledge of his daughter for quite some time without suspicions from his wife since she is deaf.
However, the wife’s sister suspected foul play after notable changes on the victim’s body and reported the matter to Police who promptly arrested Phiri after a medical examination confirmed the victim’s pregnancy.
Phiri hails from Yusuf Village, Traditional Authority Nankumba in Mangochi and he is expected to appear in court soon.
