Malawi launch of National E-Waste Management Policy

Malawi has joined the global community in commemorating International E-Waste Day, marked this year with the official launch of the National E-Waste Management Policy.

Themed “Join the E-Waste Hunt – Retrieve, Recycle, and Revive!”, the event aims at recovering valuable materials from discarded electronics to reduce environmental harm and promote sustainable recycling.

The Ministry of Natural Resources says the policy demonstrates Malawi’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development as it will also raise public awareness about responsible e-waste management and inspire collective action toward a greener future.

Dr. Usi

During the event, Vice President Dr. Michael Usi will present symbolic copies of the policy to key institutions, including the Ministry of Information, Judiciary and Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority.
