The Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) says the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) Convergence Working Groups Meeting will provide a good platform for showcasing the strides the country has made in financial inclusion.
RBM’s Governor, Wilson Banda, made the remarks when he officially opened this year’s Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) Convergence Working Groups Meetings in Lilongwe.
In an interview with MBC Online, Executive Director for RBM responsible for the financial sector, Patrick Mhango, said networking with other countries provides an opportunity for learning from others.
In his remarks FDH Bank’s Managing Director, Noel Nkulichi said the bank is striving to complement the government’s efforts in the inclusion of the unbanked.
The conference has brought together over 140 international delegates from over 73 AFI member countries across the globe it is taking place at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe.
It commenced on 27 March and will run through to the 30th of this month.
