The Competition and Fair Trading Commission (CFTC) has issued a warning against sale and consumption of a particular batch of Cool Drop bottled water manufactured by Zamm Investments.
In a statement, CFTC Executive Director, Lloyd Vincent Nkhoma, says the bottled water does not meet stipulated Malawi Standards.
He further states that as per a communication from the Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS), batch numbers BTH277, BTH016, BTH253, BTH018 and BTH291 have visible foreign sediments inside the sealed water bottles.
The MBS found that the contamination resulted from delay in changing of filters and membranes by the producer.
