Noida International University (NIU) has launched a scholarship programme targeting Malawian students, following a formal partnership with Malawi’s Ministry of Higher Education.
Under the Chairman’s Ambassador Scholarship, successful applicants will receive a 50% tuition fee reduction for undergraduate and postgraduate studies. However, students must cover other expenses, including accommodation, travel, meals, visa, and registration fees.
NIU’s Senior Executive for Admission and Outreach, Ramneek Singh, said Malawi was chosen for its English-speaking youth population and strong interest in Indian education.
“This partnership reflects our vision to empower African youth through globally relevant, inclusive education,” said Singh.
The scholarship forms part of NIU’s wider Africa Engagement Strategy and is merit-based, though financial need may be considered. Applicants must maintain a GPA of at least 6.5/10 and meet minimum academic requirements.
According to Singh, the application deadline is 15 September 2025 and the required documents include academic transcripts, passport details, and a recent photo.
He further said, NIU will assist successful applicants with visa support, hostel arrangements, and airport pickup. The university also offers orientation, mentoring, and country-specific student groups.
“NIU degrees are recognised internationally, including by World Education Services (WES), enabling graduates to pursue further studies or careers abroad,” concluded Singh.
