Government calls for agricultural expertise transfer

Government has called on Malawian youth working in Israel to work hard and acquire skills to assist them launch their mega farms when they return.

A Malawian delegation comprising Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nancy Tembo, Minister of Labour, Agness Nyalonje, and Government Spokesperson, Moses Kunkuyu made the remarks after visiting the youth in Israel farms.

Kunkuyu has since urged them not to get carried away by the huge amounts of money that are entering their bank accounts every month and forget their parents and spouses back home.

He said President Dr Lazarus Chakwera’s dream is to see the young people developing Malawi by partnering with government and consider investing in Malawi through the development of mega farms, leveraging their newfound expertise to contribute to the agricultural sector and boost food production in Malawi.

While in Israel, the delegation is expected to undertake a number of engagements, including the long awaited signing of the government to government labour export agreement and opening of the Malawi Embassy offices in Jerusalem
