Digital Finance Services campaign in Mlowe

Ministry of Finance has urged people in Mlowe, a flood-prone area in Rumphi, to adopt digital finance services which would keep their finances secured during times of natural disasters including floods.

District Supervisor for Digital Finance Services Campaign in Rumphi, Paul Nthala, said in times of natural disasters including floods, digital finance provides residents with a secure and reliable way to manage their finances.

Business representative for Mlowe Area Development Committee (ADC), Chimwemwe Mhango, described the campaign as timely and and added that people of Mlowe are ready to embrace digital finance services.

The initiative, which is being implemented across the district in partnership with local financial institutions and mobile network operators, will provide residents with access to digital financial services such as mobile money, mobile banking, and internet banking.
