Chimaneni laid to rest

Late Chisomo Chimaneni has been buried with military honours at his home village, Makwaule, Senior Chief Chilooko, Ntchisi District.

Representing President Lazarus Chakwera at the funeral, Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma who was in the company of Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sam Kawale, described late Chimaneni as a patriotic hero who died serving his country.

He mourned his untimely demise.

“…his death is heartbreaking and a big loss to me because we’re losing young ones who should take over our positions as we age towards retirement,” he said.

Also present were legislator for Ntchisi North Constituency, Arnold Kadzanja and Senior Chief Chilooko who took turns to describe late Chimaneni’s death as a big loss to the Malawi Police Service, Ntchisi as a district and to his family as he was one of the district’s role models to the youth.

The late Inpector was killed in an aircraft crash Monday along with Vice President, Saulos Chilima, and seven other passengers.
