Technical, Entrepreneurial, Vocational and Education Training (TEVET) Consortium has asked the private to open more internship spaces for their graduates.
The call was made in Blantyre when the consortium was meeting captains of industry.
According to TEVET Consortium Leader, Benson Mongiwa, internship is key for the graduates to get hands-on experience.
Production Engineer at Portland Cement, Irene Mdokota Ngwaya, asked the consortium to make sure the students are equipped with latest technological skills.
TEVET Authority Head of Training Programmes, Cripson Daudi, said the meeting was key as it provided an opportunity for the consortium and the private sector to look at how they collaborate in promoting technical and vocational skills.
