ActionAid, CAVWOC launch lean season cash transfer programme

At least 1,050 from the districts of Chiradzulu, Phalombe and Nsanje are expected to receive a once-off K100, 000 courtesy of ActionAid Malawi and Centre for Alternatives for Victimised Women and Children (CAVWOC).

This follows the launch of a lean season cash transfer programme for the lean period by the two organisations in Chiradzulu District.

The targeted households for this intervention are female and child-headed households, persons with disabilities, the elderly and households currently not benefiting from other related programmes.

These are also the households that were impacted by the catastrophic effects of drought and Cyclone Freddy.
