Minister of Education Science and Technology, Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima says she is impressed with the construction of computer and science laboratories under Equity with Quality and Learning at Secondary (EQUALS)
at Maghemo and Karonga day secondary schools in Karonga District.
Wirima further said once the construction is finished, it will enhance quality education in the country to meet the Malawi 2063 Agenda.
The Minister later urged students to desist from vandalizing school property as the malpractice negatively affects those who have the potential to do well in their studies.
Headteacher at Karonga Community Day Secondary School, Howard Kumwenda, said the development will ease the challenge of learning space the school is currently experiencing.
The World Bank funded EQUALS project is being implemented in two districts under the Northern Education Division.
Karonga has nine sites while Chitipa has ten.
Besides that, there are also cost-effective classroom blocks in Mzimba, Rumphi and Nkhata-Bay districts.
