Two men at Manja Township in Blantyre are reported dead after taking alcohol on an empty stomach.
Soche Police publicist, Aaron Chilala, has since identified the two as Vincent Chotokoma, 21, and Steven Lizzi, 48.
Chilala says Chotokoma, who was a second hand shoe vendor at Limbe Market, was seen taking alcohol in excess without eating, two days prior to the fateful day.
He was then discovered by his friends lying lifeless at his home on Monday morning, where he was staying alone.
On the other hand, Lizzi had picked up a quarrel with his relatives three days prior to his death and is reported to have gone on a drinking spree without taking any food.
He was also discovered lifeless on the same day along a road leading to his house.
Chilala said postmortem on both bodies revealed that death was due to hypoglycemia as a result of consuming alcohol on an empty stomach.
