Maranatha Private School has entered into a three-year partnership with Sharda University in India. Under this agreement, top-performing students in the Malawi School Certificate Examination (MSCE) will receive 100% scholarships to study at the university.
Additionally, in this year’s MSCE, the two top students from Maranatha Private School—a boy and a girl—will each receive the scholarship.
Speaking during the signing ceremony of the agreement in Blantyre an executive at the Sharda University Rahul Pal said the move is to give access to quality education to students regardless of their status.
“We are one of the highly ranked universities in Asia and pride ourselves in offering quality education so we want to extend the same to Malawian students,” Pal said.
Reacting to this, Maranatha Private School Proprietor, Enerst Kawonga, said the initiative speaks volumes of how committed the Private school is to the country’s education sector.
“This is the beginning of more scholarships to come. The only thing that students have to offer in return is hard work and determination,” he said.
