Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Simplex Chithyola Banda, remains optimistic that the country will register economic gains this year owing to the government’s various strategies.
According to Banda, these strategies include strict adherence to fiscal and economic policies to ensure the effective use of public resources towards different sectors.
He further disclosed that the government will not relent in investing into productive sectors such as agriculture, tourism and mining to generate enough foreign exchange.
The minister also described the resumption of direct budgetary support by the international donor partners as very crucial in the effective implementation of social and economic development programs and projects.
Chithyola also stressed the need for every citizen to play a role in the transformation of the economy be venturing into various productive enterprises.
