Leader of the House Richard Chimwendo Banda has assured Malawians that there is hope of turning around the country’s economy with the leadership of President Dr Lazarus Chakwera.
Chimwendo Banda made the remarks during his final statement at the end of the Parliament sitting in Lilongwe.
He highlighted various development activities delivered under the leadership of Dr Chakwera.
Taking his turn, Leader of Opposition, George Chaponda, blamed the office of the Speaker for what he called failure to enforce the Section 65.
But the Speaker of the National Assembly, Catherine Gotani Hara, said she could not do anything because there was a stay order.

Hara blamed Chaponda for singling out her office because she is a woman, saying all the previous speakers met a similar scenario.
Parliament deliberations shall return after the 16 September 2025 polls.
