Teachers hailed for improving Primary School Education in Mangochi

Mangochi District Education, Youth and Sports Officer, Joe Magombo, has heaped praise on primary school Head-teachers following outstanding performance by learners during Primary School Leaving Certificate Examinations.

Magombo was speaking during the Annual General Meeting for the Association of Headteachers held at Lisumbwi Secondary School in Monkey Bay.

He attributed the 7% increase in pass rate, from 84% last year to 91% this year,
to their dedication, hard work and commitment.

The AGM is expected to come up with ways that can improve education standards, collaboration with parents as well as address some cultural practices that hinder children’s education.
