Betway has partnered Silver Strikers Football Club on a year-long football jersey agreement that will see the bankers earning K65 million.
The club’s main sponsor, Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM), says it has opened doors for other companies to partner them for the growth of the club.
RBM Deputy Governor McDonald Mafuta Mwale said commercialisation is the way to go if football is to remain meaningful to both the players and sports lovers.
Silver Strikers Chief Executive Officer, Patrick Chimimba, thanked Betway for coming in to support the team.
He has since called on supporters to remain disciplined for mutual benefit between sponsors and the team
Charles Phiri, Betway’s Chief Operations Officer, said his brand decided to work with Silver Strikers following the discipline and potential fanbase the team has and its stability in the league.
