Parliament has paid tribute to Vice President, late Dr Saulos Chilima and eight others who died in a plane crash on Monday.
In a statement, Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara says the scale, manner and impact of the tragedy has left the country in unimaginable grief.
“The Parliament of Malawi has learnt with deep sorrow and shock the sudden demise of the Vice President, Rt. Hon. Dr Saulos Klaus Chilima, and eight talented and young Malawian officials,” reads the statement.
It goes on to admire late Chilima’s legacy of hard work and patriotism to the country, among others.
Dr Chilima and eight others were killed in a plane crash at Chikangawa Forest in Mzimba District.
