The National Product Magazine is set to host its business awards on 14 June 2025, alongside celebrations marking its 115th edition. The awards aim to honour outstanding businesses in the agriculture, manufacturing, and transport sectors across the SADC and COMESA regions.
To be held under the theme: “Connecting Industries, Fueling Exports: Enhancing Malawi’s Forex Reserves through Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Transport,” the awards also seek to spotlight industries that are critical to driving Malawi’s economic growth.
Chief Executive Officer of the National Product Magazine, Arthur Chinyamula, emphasised the importance of collaboration in fostering economic development and regional competitiveness.
“For Malawi to strengthen its forex reserves, there must be a united effort from agriculture, manufacturing, and transport. These sectors form the backbone of economic transformation, and our awards celebrate those leading this progress,” said Chinyamula.
According to Chinyamula, the nominations include businesses from agriculture, transport, manufacturing, and related sectors.
“The nominees were rigorously assessed based on their specialisation, quality, performance, size, and export data. A special focus has been placed on women-led enterprises to ensure fair recognition of their impact and innovation.
“Our awards reflect our commitment to fostering inclusivity. Women-led businesses have their own dedicated categories, celebrating their contributions to economic resilience and growth,” he added.
To ensure transparency in the awards, Chinyamula said the public and industry stakeholders are encouraged to vote for their preferred businesses. The voting window will run for 15 days.
The awards ceremony will bring together local and international participants, including businesses and individuals from Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique.
