The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has expressed satisfaction with the progress of the third phase of the voter registration process currently underway in various districts.
MEC Chairperson, Justice Annabel Mtalimanja, made the remarks after monitoring registration activities at several centres in Mzimba District.
“Our findings are that most people attend to their gardens before coming to register,” Mtalimanja noted.
One of the registered voters at Bwengu, Aness Ngulube, encouraged others to register, noting the speed and efficiency of the process.
The third and final phase of registration is set to conclude on 11 December 2024.
