The National Commission for Science and Technology (NCST) is optimistic that establishment of Academy of Sciences, a network of researchers and scientists, will help address the country’s socio-economic challenges.
NCST Director General, Gift Kadzamira, said this during a networking event for researchers and scientists in Lilongwe. Kadzamira emphasised the importance of aligning solutions with the Malawi 2063 vision, noting that the Academy of Sciences will enable scientists and researchers to use appropriate technologies to transform the country’s economic status.
Elizabeth Bandason, Secretary General of the Academy of Sciences, highlighted the academy’s significance, stating that it will unite scientists with diverse expertise to generate innovative, research – based ideas and solutions.
