NBS hikes charity shield prize money

NBS bank has doubled its sponsorship towards this year’s Charity Shield from K20 million to K40 million this year.

The bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Kwanele Ngwenya, made the announcement in Blantyre.

Alfred Gunda, the Football Association of Malawi’s General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer said this year’s revenue will be directed towards the support of the girl child education where a sanitary infrastructure at a yet to be identified school shall be erected.

This year’s Charity Shield match will be played on 30 March at the Bingu National Stadium between FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, the quadruple winners and the league runners-up Silver Strikers.

The Charity Shield is a ceremonial game which marks the beginning of a new football season.
