Mzimba residents push for completion of Mzimba – Eswazini Hora Kafukule Road

A Mzimba based group calling itself Mtwalo/Kampingo Sibande Road Taskforce has expressed disappointment over what it calls ‘delays’ to complete the Mzimba – Eswazini Hora Kafukule Road.

It has since prayed for intervention from the highest office in the land and are optimistic that President Dr Lazarus Chakwera will come to their rescue.

In their petition, which was read by treasurer of the grouping, Merlene Munthali, community members from the two senior Traditional Authorities are disgruntled by the poor road network in their areas.

“We face challenges in terms of mobility to other areas due to this incomplete road. We have farmers (who grow tobacco, maize and soy beans) failing to transport their produce to the market due to poor road network,” Munthali said.

Speaking when receiving the petition, District Commissioner for M’mbelwa District Council, Rodney Simwaka, assured the petitioners that the petition will be delivered to the relevant authorities.
