Police at Namwera in Mangochi have arrested 38-year-old Abdullah Nandi for allegedly injuring 20-year-old suspected thief, Major Majid.
Mangochi Police station Public Relations Officer Amina Tepani Daudi has confirmed to MBC that Nandi allegedly tied Majid to his Ford Courier motor vehicle and dragged him along the road after catching him stealing tomatoes from his garden.
Nandi has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous harm while Majid is receiving medical treatment at a hospital in the district.
