MALAWI BROADCASTING CORPORATION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: PUBLIC RELATIONS AND CUSTOMER AFFAIRS MANAGER

A rare opportunity has arisen to engage a qualified person to fill a Management position of Public Relations and Customer Affairs Manager tenable at Chichiri Broadcasting House, Blantyre.

The MBC Management, therefore, invites applications from suitable candidates to fill this position permanently.

a) Purpose of the Position

To portray a good image of MBC to stakeholders

b) Key Responsibilities and Duties:

i. Creating and producing promotional materials and programmes in consultation with the Heads of Directorates;

ii. Preparing and circulating relevant information through newsletters;

iii. Disseminating on behalf of the Director-General the official statements and information to stakeholders;

iv. Planning, developing and implementing public relations strategies;

v. Liaising with the media houses to cover MBC functions;

vi. Undertaking research;

vii. Writing and distributing a press release to targeted media;

viii. Liaising with relevant directorates in the production of publicity brochures, in-house magazines and handouts; and

ix. Organizing events including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours.

c) Required Academic and Professional Qualifications and Experience

 At least a Masters/Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication/ Journalism or a related or relevant field from an accredited institution of higher learning

 At least 3 years of work experience in a senior position at a reputable public or private institution.
