The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) says embracing new innovations in service delivery can boost the country’s economic development.
MACRA’s Director of Legal Services, Thokozani Chimbe made the remarks during the organisation’s open day in Mzuzu.
Speaking during the ceremony, Chimbe said Malawi as a country needs to embrace digitalisation for economic transformation.
Representative of different stakeholders during the ceremony, who is also the Chairperson of the Media, Information and Communication Committee of Parliament, Susan Dossi, hailed MACRA for being proactive in engaging stakeholders on enhancing digitalisation and addressing their concerns.
MACRA announced plans to develop a new law aimed at improving cybersecurity for all digital space users.
