Councillor Innocent Nkhoma of Chitete Ward has been elected as the Mayor for Kasungu Municipal Council, beating Councillor Brighton Ngalande of Chankhanga Ward.
Nkhoma polled seven votes against Ngalande’s two to take over the mantle from Heese Nyangu who did not contest.
Kasungu Municipal Council has eight councillors and one Member of Parliament, all belonging to Malawi Congress Party.
