Social Commentators have described the dismal performance of UTM’s former Secretary General Patricia Kaliati as a sign of public mistrust in her leadership.
The political enthusiasts believe this is a lesson to other party leaders to work in conformity with the electorates aspirations.
Chimwemwe Tsitsi, a Social Commentator, was commenting on the sidelines of the just ended UTM Convention in Mzuzu where Dalitso Kabambe defeated his contenders with wide margins despite being in the party for a short time.
He said, “the results have shown the need for party leaders to desist from forcing themselves on the people but be their servants.”
Political commentator, Tiyane Nyirenda, called upon the new party leadership to fully reflect on the results and move away from believing that their positions will help them win the elections.
