Desk Officer for Secondary Schools in the Central East Education Division, Assan Balakiya has hailed Kasungu Mucipality MSCE Booster awards, an initiative being sponsored by renowned journalist Wisdom Chimgwede in which three best Form 3 students in each of the schools within the municipality are awarded cash prizes.
Presiding over the awards for the third term of 2023/24 academic year at Chankhanga Secondary School on Saturday, Balakiya said the awards will enhance competition among learners and improve the national results for the schools.
Kasungu Mucipality has six secondary schools namely Chankhanga, Kasungu, Chayamba, Loyola, Boma and Mwalawanyenje.
The students on position number 1 pocketed K50 000, those on position received K30 000 while those on position 3 got K20 000.
Chimgwede supported the awards in partnership with Kasungu Community Radio.
