The Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has expressed satisfaction with the infrastructure and systems improvements made at the Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe, which they supported financially.
Akihiko Tanaka, President of JICA, made the remarks during a visit to the airport, where he commended the impact of their interventions in the aviation sector.
Fredrick Chisepeya, the Acting Airport Commandant responsible for operations and passenger facilitation, confirmed that JICA’s assistance has elevated aircraft safety standards.
Chisepeya also mentioned ongoing projects at KIA, including the upgrading of the airfield lighting systems, as part of JICA’s continued efforts to enhance airport infrastructure.
