Ryosuke Shizimu, a Japanese, has pledged to support the construction of school blocks at Kalumpha Primary School in Dedza.
According to Jacob Kaumphawi, Shizimu was initially approached by the community after observing that learners were studying in dilapidated grass-thatched classrooms.
According to Group Village Headman Nampatha, the school currently accommodates 366 pupils and has four teachers who reside several kilometres away.
Established in November 2017, the institution serves as a junior primary school for classes one up to three.
The nearest full primary school, Kampini, is situated 7 Kilometres away from the junior school.
