Ministry of Education has re-emphasised its commitment to addressing challenges in the education sector.
Minister responsible, Madalitso Kambauwa Wirima, made the remarks in Lilongwe during a press briefing on Friday aimed at appreciating the Norwegian government’s dedication to providing supplementary assistance to Malawi’s education sector.
Deputy Head of Mission at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Malawi, Siri Frette Allsted, emphasised that Norway will continue working with Malawi and its partners to give children the education opportunities they are entitled to.
UNICEF Country Representative, Shadrack Omol, pledged similarly in a bid to tackle critical issues like access to quality inclusive early childhood education and lower primary education to strengthen the foundations of learning in Malawi.
Recently, the Norwegian government provided $3.5 million, which is about K6 billion, to the Ministry through UNICEF’s Global Education Thematic Fund.
