Govt lauds MANEB for top-notch exam administration

Government through the Ministry of Education has commended the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) for improving on examinations administration by adopting modern technology.

Director of Basic Education in the ministry, Grace Milner, gave an example of the introduction of e-results and e-payment of examination fees.

Milner said this in Lilongwe where MANEB was announcing the results of this year’s Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE) and the Junior Certificate of Education (JCE).

She said the ministry will look into some private and public schools who have attained 0% pass rate in both PSLCE and JCE.

MANEB Executive Director, Dorothy Nampota, says the exams were administered leakage free and successful, despite recording a case of cheating during the PSLCE that led to the arrest of 4 students.

Nampota said all students with queries are advised to use their respective schools to submit before the 19th of September 2025 not directly to MANEB.

To JCE students, she said those who want to have their papers remarked should collect forms in their respective schools.

This year out of 247,958 students who sat for PSLCE exams 216,972 have passed and out of 158 451 students who sat for JCE exams 122,978 has passed.
