Extension workers hailed for implementing CSEPWP

Director of Planning and Development (DPD) for Zomba District Council, Precious Kamtsitsi, has commended Extension workers for successfully implementing the Climate Smart Enhanced Programme (CSEPWP).

Kamtsitsi said this during a review meeting in Zomba District.

He said the district has managed to achieve over 85 per cent of its planned activities.

“The programme has achieved a lot because of hard work and dedication. Let us not relent but keep pushing for the better,” Kamtsitsi said.

Kamtsitsi added that the district is reviewing its programme implementation and urged extension workers to capitalise on the strength and work towards closing the gaps.

He said by implementing the programme, the district has created a number of tangible assets, including the restoration of forest reserves and improved agricultural produce through land resource management structures.

Peter Mdodo, Designated Desk Officer for Nanyungwi Catchment, said the review meeting was important as it provided a platform to track the progress of the project and work on the challenges.

“Apart from tracking the progress, the meeting also provided room to learn about how our friends are implementing their activities and embracing good lessons,” said Mdodo.
