Zamm Investments, manufacturers of Cooldrop water, have indicated that they are waiting for a final approval from the Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) to resume production of their water brand.
The company halted the production of the water brand after noting that the water production process had some technical hitches.
The technical faults affected selected batches of their 500 millilitre bottles, which have since been recalled and are set for disposal.
Zamm Investments Marketing Manager, Collings Linyenga, has told MBC that the company hired a Chinese expert to replace the faulty equipment and production is set to resume once MBS gives a go ahead.
He added that when the Competition and Fair Trading Commission was issuing a public notice for recall of the said batches, they had already moved to rectify the problem.
“We have been engaging the Malawi Bureau of Standards since day one, we work with them on every stage of the process, and what we are waiting [for] from them is a final approval for us to resume production,” Linyenga said.
